Ls7, 427 ci, 505 hp *SOLD*
Well I need to sell my stock 08 LS7, 427 CI 505HP. Its a long block, 2500 miles, no intake manifold... I bought this to put forged internals in, but due to the economy, and lack of work, is making me sell. I paid $8200 from a performance shop that took it out to put in a built LSX motor. So i know the economy sucks and all but would like to get $7500 out of it. If you have a resonable offer and not trying to low ball, please PM me. I found a comparable motor, with a little fewer miles, that went for $9k, and new crate motors go for $12k on sale. Thanks for looking.

This should help you with your sale: The price of the LS7 crate engine went up January 2009. The list price is now over $19k and the cheapest I've found now is just over $14k.

the motor has to come apart to change the relutor wheel from 58X to 24x and then theres the oil system if you wont to use the LS7 crank you will need to have about 5/8 of a inch milled off the front of it. drill hole for dip stick.

To complete the Dry Sump system for this motor here is all you need:
1-GM Part Number: 25534412 $166.00
Adapter block
Hose barbs
Seals and bolts
2-You can get a Dry sump tank/w breather from summit for $500 and they make all sorts of different dimensions and sizes so you can choose for your application. The stock ls7 tank holds 8 quarts so as long as size to that capacity you will be fine.
3- Have your oil hoses made from motor to tank.
You will be able to complete it for under $1000

Someone makes a spacer to fix the pulley/crank difference too but you're on your own to search for that. I just wanted to put the kabosh on the misinformation about having to tear the motor apart. Some good info in this thread as well.
