Would you be willing to seperate the heads and short block? I mostly want the short block if it can be used as is. I'm close enough I could probably come pick it up if needed.

The sensors are the same and in the same location. You would have to use your f-body oil pan and pickup and windage tray. The exhaust on you f-body will fit. You would use your intake manifold. They only modification you will have to do is drill and tap one hole for the alternator. Every thing else is will work. You will need to get it tuned for the larger engine. I would sugest in putting a good cam in it. This too will require tuning so do it before you have it tuned. You will probly need injectors rated for the hp you plan to make. I did mine a few months back and thats all I did. I used all the accesories off the stack engine.

The LQ4, generally speaking, is a cheaper engine.
There is a benefit to owning a LQ4 over the LQ9.
The LQ9 is a better platform if you're thinking about building an all motor beast.
I also believe the rods are a little beefier on the LQ9.

are you 100% positive that it's not a rod knocking?

Yes, as you can see in the pictures the rod bearings look like new. I was stunned with the way they looked. There was no bearing material in the pan, nore was there any in the pickup screen. The rods and mains on this thing are in great shape. I just snugged the bearings back up. They will have to be re-torqued.

This one is the LQ4, I borescoped it last weekend. I think there is a difference in the rod length, but I am not sure the rods are not as "beefy".

I was just wondering if you figured out what the know was. I work at a GM dealer and we find alot of cam/ lifter problem causing the noise. I have also had one with a bent rod and the piston was rubbing on the crank.

If I do not sell it for what I am asking before Friday, I will dissassimble the engine and sell it parted out.

As you can see from the pictures, the bottom end (meaning rod bearings, main bearings, and crankshaft) are in perfect condition. You can see the pics of the bottom side of the pistons, this is in great condition. I bore scoped the engine (wish my little Snap-On scope could take pics, sorry) and the top of the pistons and cylinders look good. There was no fouled sparkplugs, nothing that would indicate oil consumption from the rings or from the valve seals. I have been advising everyone who has PM'd on it to change the lifters in it. Most people want to upgrade the cam so changing the lifter at that time would not be a problem.

I have tried to give complete, honest, and lots of details on this engine. I am beginning to think all I have done is scare off people. I know this is a very good engine and it is priced great too. But like I said before, if no one buys it by Friday as a complete engine, then I will take it completely apart and sell it piece at a time. That way I can take micrometer readings of everything, and photo everything. I think I can make more money out of it like that too.

So if you are on the fence with this thing, this is your last week to make up your mind.

If you want parts off of this, go ahead and PM me and I will consider taking it apart now. This short block with some 5.7L heads should make for a nasty street engine. Does anyone know what the compression ratio would be? I was told close to 11:1.
