sorry if this is a noob question but the qtp cut out when it says 2.5" does that mean the plate diameter outlet is 2.5 or the pipe itself is 2.5 cause my y pipe is 3"

Isnt the intermediate pipe the one that goes over the axle?
The y-pipe, intermediate pipe, muffler and then the tailpipes... right?
Do you have a pic of what these 2 you have are? what size are they? does it merge off of a single 3"?
