Bad *** 347 forged shortblock.
RODS--OLIVER I beam 6.125 with ARP Rod bolts
1219 dollars. 1000+ HP.
JE CUSTOM DOMED PISTONS WITH SIDE GAS PORTS and Pistons have a 300.00 polydyne coating on skirts and tops...
+6cc domed
730 for the pistons plus 300 dollars in coating.
Total for pistons 1030.
JE Custom rings.
180 dollars
2001 ls1 block-3.905 BORE HONED .005 OVER FOR CLEAN UP...
700 dollars for the block.
200 dollars for a new crankshaft.
1475 for the machine work which included...
Stock crank heat treated.
clevit h series race bearings
cam bearings, rod bearings
And assembly
Shipping was 200 dollars for a total bill just over 5000 dollars.
I would like to get 3500 out of the motor complete.
It is ready to be shipped and you could have it within a few days of purchase.
This is not for everyone and is a extreemly built 347.
It will hold a ton of nitrous and get some added compression with the piston design.

This was put together by the same machine shop BADZ used. I went through him when he was a sponsor on here last year. (I am not positive but I think he used LME)
It was very similar build he had as I had similar goals/plans. He ran 9.6-9.8 with his setup spraying very heavily.
I have switched to a 410 cubic inch motor and have been on/off on selling this. I doubt I will use it anytime soon and its time to move on.

I have had some interest from some FI guys.
This isn't the best motor for a turbo setup or supercharger setup.
This is a great NA/Nitrous setup.
With these pistons the only way you could get this motor under 10:1 compression would be by running a 6.0 head and a .060 or thicker head gasket.
Now I am sure I just worried some people thinking this is a real high compression motor.
High yes, streetable on 93 octane defentially.
Here are a couple compression ratio breakdowns depending on the heads your running.
All numbers will be using a stock size head gasket and non milled heads.
6.0 head ~ 10.15
LS1 head ~ 10.7
LS6 head ~ 11.0
5.3 head ~ 11.35
With milling and gasket thickness these numbers will change but that should give a real good idea to those interested.

A really unfair comparision.
A 402 is a completly different setup.
It has more cubic inches and there is no replacement for displacement.
This is more of a apples to oranges comparision.
If your going all out the 402 will make more power and torque.
This is basicially a 9.9 out of 10 when it comes to 347 cubic inch motor's. A aftermarket crank would make it a 10, however the stock crank has proven itsself over and over again. GM acturally made on piece in the shortblock very nice, and lucky for us it is the most expensive piece.
What are your goals for your setup scalemaster?
What kind of budget are you working with?
These would make it easier to suggest my motor or a different motor.

Stock crank is about the least of your worries.
GM produced a very nice crank when designing this motor and trust me if I felt there was a reason to replace it with a aftermarket crank I would have.
I was planning on running 9's on a DP 250 shot and still believe it is very possible with this shortblock as a great foundation. There is no reason why your couldn't make 500RWHP with a large cam/Very Good heads, 90/90, all bolton's, very good exhaust, and a nice tune.
I was shooting for around 700RWHP with a nitrous cam, and a automatic plus a 250 shot.
This motor will basicially take damn near anything you can throw at it. If you have anymore question feel free to ask.

Extra cubes is always nice.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
A advantage will be you could keep your current top end with my motor where as a 402 would more then likely require a better set of heads, and larger cam.
This will defentially handle the juice.

The shortblock has some nice components. Looks like it will be a nice set up. However, LME did not build the shortblock. Just wanted to make that clear.
Thank you,

Well the intake/TB setup is great for either motor.
I would personially change heads if you go to a bigger motor.
Maybe a AFR225/TEA stage 3 or the same heads you have but in the stage 3 setup with larger valves.
The heads will work great on either setup dont get me wrong I would just go to a stage 3 head on a 402.
Anyways looks like you have a real nice top end package. Again good luck whatever way you decide to go and let me know if you want this shortblock.
Thanks again for the interest.
