Default Ipod Hardwired interface for Monsoon System

I am selling my nearly new USA Spec iPod to GM interface. Model number PA11-GM45. I purchased this in the beginning of September of this year and have since decided to replace the entire stereo system including the factory Monsoon HU so I need to sell this. I would have just taken it back to where I purchased it but I threw the box and manual away. I paid 139 plus tax and shipping for this. I will let it go for 100 shipped to the lower 48. The unit was used for all of about 100 miles. It still has the protective plastic covering it. This will work with any 4th gen Fbody that has a CD Changer port I believe. Please check compatibility for your car on the USA Spec web site. You can not use the changer and this interface I am told. The unit also adds an additional input via RCA's. Here are some specs on the unit and some pictures are below as well. Please let me know if you are interested. I can take Paypal but only with Checking/Savings account as I'm not setup to take any credit cards.

This unit DOES work with the steering wheel controls.

• Easy Installation - All cables are plug and play for easy installation.
• Adds Additional Aux Input - Besides connecting to an iPod, our iPod interface provides an additional aux input to connect other audio devices.
• Superior Sound Quality - True digital quality sound through factory radio.
• Uses CD Changer Function - Uses the CD changer mode to operate an iPod just like a CD Changer.
• Auto Maintain - Maintain current playlist when migrating your iPod from portable use to in car use.
• Auto Playlist Select - If no play list are created, the interface auto selects the first 5 playlist on your iPod.
• Rich in Features - Track forward, track back, select playlist, shuffle and random play are some of the useful features provided by our interface through a factory stereo.
• Auto Memory - Auto locates the last song listened to on each play list.
• Auto Skip - Skip 10+ songs in each playlist with the factory CD Changer FF
button. Or, skip to the end of a playlist.
• Auto Charge - Charges iPod battery and auto stops after 1 hour of non-use.
• Auto Playlist Select - If no play list are created, the interface auto selects the first 5 playlist on your iPod.

There are two ways to setup the unit:

• Playlist Mode - Create up to 5 favorite mobile playlist then use the radio’s CD changer controls to access and control your playlist.
• Direct Mode - Gives user complete control of their iPod while it is connected to the factory radio. iPod is not locked out while connected to radio and user is able to manually access their complete iPod content. Radio still can adjust song up/down random or shuffle play but user must manually select playlist or Artist.

You can read more about the unit at USA Spec web site.

It only works if you have a radio with the changer port. You probably don't want this if you already have a changer. My car came without the changer but still had the port. I believe all 4th gen that have the CD player in the HU will have the changer port. I'm not 100% sure on 98's though.

I've gotten a few PM's about this unit. The instructions said it will not work with the CD Changer but it does have a connection for it. I'm selling it as it will NOT work if you have the CD changer but whether it actually will work I have no idea. I believe this also works in 99 and 00 4th gen fbody's as well. Takes 2 seconds to remove the 2 bolts and see if you radio has the changer port. It is the port on the far left of the HU if looking at the radio from the front. The USA Spec site says it works with 98-02 Camaro's and Firebirds but I believe it does not work with 98's as they did not have the changer port. I can gaurantee it will work in the 01 and 02 Camaro and Firebird that do not have the changer. List price is 149 and I paid 139 but I'm willing to sell for 100 shipped to the lower 48. Shipping alone will be about 15 bucks. so your getting the unit in nearly new condition for almost 50% off retail.

Yeah from what I can see nothing works to hook it to the 98's unless you have a changer.

It plugs into the CD changer port on the back of the head unit. I ran the cable out the pasenger side into a ProFit Vehicle Specific mount. Here is a picture of how it was in my 02.

With the box setup in "Playlist" mode you can actually hide the ipod in the glove compartment or the console as the radio or steering wheel controls will control the iPod. I had it set in "Direct" mode so that the controls on the iPod would work. You can chose either by setting 2 dip switches.

The mount you see in the picture is NOT included. I can tell you where to buy it though.

It will certainly fit in your 02 SS.

I also believe that you could connect this to the cd changer cable which is behind the driver side trim piece in the hatch area. If you look at the first picture up top you see a male and female connector. The male end of the cable plugs into the HU and I assume the female will plug into the changer cable in the hatch area. Even if your car did not come with the changer option the cable will be back there as it was in mine. At least in an 01 or 02. Not 100% certain that will work but I would think it should..

Ok, I'm already taking at least a 50.00 hit on an item 30 days old so I'll ebay it before I'd let it go cheaper. Let me know. I'll ebay it in the next week or 2 if no one here wants it.

I believe so. You must have an "Aux" or "Source" button on your factory radio and you cannot still use the factory CD changer if you have one. Please verify it will work with your car. All I know for sure is it works with 01 and 02 Camaro's and Firebirds with the cd changer port. I also know it will not work with 98's.

So 98's definatly DO NOT have this port? I am away at college right now but I will be home this weekend and I can check then, if I do I think you wil have a buyer.

Also Im kind of unsure, will an ipod work without this? or do I absoulty need an interface to connect and Ipod to my radio, without using the radio thing.

The unit appears to be sold pending my receiving the Money order.

The unit will not work with a 98 as I understand there is no chnager port on the back. I'm no expert on 98's though.
