I looked at another GM one, the Accel unit (that I couldnt find for a spline drive), and the MSD. I know, I know now that I have the feedback from all the much wiser LTX guys I'll know not to do that again if I can just go with an OEM. But I will say it is running a HELLUVA lot better.
You did the cap and rotor or the whole thing?

Yes, the old shortblock was bone stock with LE2 heads and an LE1HL cam.
Ran 11.89 in it with two broken valve springs (found out later)

The new ones is all forged, filled and studded.
The block is actually the only original part, and it's been decked and bored LOL

H/C went in around 52K, made the 11.89 pass around 58K, pulled it apart
around 60K replace it with something that could take more RPM.

Oh yeah, it should easily handle a H/C setup with a 100-125shot if it's in good shape.
I probably wouldn't go trying that on rings and bearings that have 180K and questionable service histories though.

That's the thing I was worried about, questionable service history! This individual made one huge **** up that I'm trying to fix now, are you ready for this one? NO O2 SENSORS!! The car is running like ***!! On that note what kind of chaos would that cause me?

Running original GM Optispark here. When it goes, I will replace it with the same oem GM Optispark. The only MSD parts I run in my car is their Digital 6 plus ignition,Digital rpm window switch, and their 8.5mm plug wires.
