4.10s in an a4 is harsh but if its only track driven then by all means you cant go wrong. 4.10s on the highway you must be doing over 3k at 65-70mph. whats the fun in that when your filling up at the gas station all the time.

i know in my dads a4 we put in a 3.42 rear and were spinning about 2300-2500 at a 65-70mph and it eats gas. anything over 2k on the highway forget about 20+mpg highway.

yea... i dn i have a SS3600 too so i kno all about highway issues lol... i only drive it on the highway like 3 or 4 times a year and thats it... other then that im below 60mph all the time... and she is seeing more and more limited street duties neways... 4.10's would def give me a great advantage at the track tho... i would be peaking out going through the traps around 5500-6000 limiter is set to 6200 i believe i got to double check my madz28 tune tho

4.10s in an A4 is about the same gearing as running 3.73s in D instead of OD. Its not the greatest for a DD, but not as bad as many would make you think!!

I have 4.1 in my car but fairly short tires (25.6) and IIRC about 2200 rpm at 70 mph with a 700r4. Go to Bowtie for a tire, gear, trans ratio, speed calculator. I don't remember the rpms, I should refresh myself since I melted the speedo cable on the headers some time ago.

It's kinda ironic that the Camaro guys want 4.1s and us V8RX7 forum people are changing complete rear end setups and housings to get the higher gears. But then again there is a more or less 500# difference in car weight.

I get 24+mpg w my M6/4:10's. Thats mixed 65mph, 75mph, and a fair amt of flogging the **** out of it in town.

I get 19 & 11 MPG's in my car.
Clearly the heavy Truetrac and the 4.10 plust the cam are accounting for this. Oh, and I forgot about the fun pedal.
