I would curious to see where a lot of the gains come from, are they an attribute of the new rockers or replacing worn out valve train components such as high mile valve springs, more then likely a combination of both. Which would explain why some cars pick up more then others, though I have never heard of any really ever breaking a stock spring, I imagine like any other spring in constant use after 10+ years, they must have some wear resulting in decreased power.

i put NSA 1.6rr and all the supporting mods for that (guideplates, hardened pushrods, ect) and it was a nice little mod. nothing crazy. better top end. noticed little change on bottom end. i'd say it was a 5-10hp gain. now i just need my LT4 knock module to come in

If you're going to upgrade to 1.6 rockers, do it in such a way as to make them
usable if you ever decided to install a cam upgrade.
Quality non-self-aligning rockers, guideplates and quality springs that can handle the lift and lobes.
Hardened pushrods would be nice, but are certainly not a requirement with a stock cam.
Gains from increased lift are not as significant as some may tend to believe.
Gains from reduced valvetrain friction and mass are big factors.
Don't expect 1.7 to have a huge advantage over 1.6.

96-97 LT1 200/207 117 LSA .477/.490 @ 1.6:1
.........LT4 203/210 115 LSA .508/.511 @ 1.6:1
HOT CAM.. 218/228 112 LSA .525/.525 @ 1.6:1

If you take the first cam and divide the lift by 1.5 and then times 1.6 you get the second one which is accordng to them an lt4 cam. The third part number is the lt4 "hot" cam with 1.5's and the fourth part number is the same cam with 1.6's

I see that some of you recommended 1.7's on stock cam . Would that require any valve cover modifications with the stock cam ? I have a 94 corvette by the way and heard the valve covers may have more clearance but not sure . Also with either 1.6's or 1.7's which springs would be good for stock cam and what else would be necessary for the swap ?

How does more lift change the sound??? At the end of this month, I'm installing some compcam 1.6 roller rockers. I did a cam swap a while back, and I don't know why, but I ended up buying 1.52 roller rockers instead of getting the 1.6
I'm running the 502 comp cam 218/224 durations, 495/503 lift 112 LS
