just a little excited today
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
The headers fit pretty well, except the pass side contacts the frame just a touch. I don't feel any vibration from it at all and had the same issue with another car this week we did the headers on. I thought maybe his car had been in an accident or something until I seen the same issue on my car.

The steering shaft just touched the tube with the bolt, so I just trimmed it a touch. I had already smoothed and paint my steering shaft before, so it may have touched if it had not been done.
overall everything came out as good if not better then planned
And as always Larry, your install is clean, nice job!
Hoping for some good weather next weekend(Sat). Looking forward to see your new BEAST. Congrats again.

unlocked and the converter seemed to flash over 5K which is odd
409 rwhp
We made 1 locked run and it made
447 rwhp
I think with a few tweaks after the new MAF we'll see 450-455.
This is with a 4L60E, CM DS, S60 w/ 3.73 and spool, 28" M/T Radials on Street Lites.
BTW : I'm more then happy so far.
could bigger valves, better heads & intake make more power? SURE! I'm not 1 bit unhappy with the setup as is though.
I will update the heads if I ever go with a single plane intake, dist. and stand alone.

Thats pretty good numbers for a locked,break-in tune.
Here's some simple comparison of valve weights:
LS6 light 2.00 / 8mm Intake valve = 74.7 grams
LS6 light 1.55 / 8mm Exhaust valve = 64.6 grams
LS1 2.00 / 8mm Intake valve = 101.1 grams
LS1 1.55 / 8mm Exhaust valve = 87.3 grams
LT1 1.94 / 11-32 Intake valve = 110.0 grams
LT1 1.49 / 11-32 Exhaust valve = 95.0 grams
I recently bought a set of these (ls6) valve for $75 shipped. Another advantage of using 8mm valves over 11/32 is that the stem diameter is smaller. That will allow air to move around it easier inside of the runners enhancing head flow. I like the fact that he used the 8mm valve because I've been talking about this for a long time and hadn't really seen people doing it even though it's a no brainer cost wise. The only thing I would have changed personally is using 2.055-2.08 and 1.60 valves with corresponding deshrouding work.
