My 97 has keyless entry, but not the alarm module. Is there a way to either add the module (and then get the fob with alarm button), or make the parking lights flash or horn beep when I lock/unlock the car?

Yeah, as long as an alarm was wired into it. I don't think you would NEED a new remote, because the alarm button on the remote is only for "PANIC", but it would be good to have. Check ebay for those, it's where I got mine.

 

Factory key less won't do it though.

Do i need a certain key fab? My car has keyless entry but i didn't get any fabs from the previous owner.

 

Has nothing to do with the key fob, it's the factory system that doesn't do it. It's just not that style. I'm sure the 98+ do it, but I'm not sure if that system can be swapped into a 93-97. You're welcome to try, and I'd love to hear how it goes!

And if you don't have the fob you can get one off ebay for like 30 bucks and program it yourself in 10 seconds, it's that simple

 

when i had my aftermarket one installed i asked the guy could he hook it up to the fog lights and the factory horn, and he did it with out any problem...

 

I have the keyless option on my '94 formula, when I first got the car it had an alarm that operated the doors, and flashed the lights.
Unfortunately, it only works at temperatures below 45*, don't ask me why?, i've no idea, but over 45* it will arm the alarm, but won't operate the door locks or flash the lights, below 45* it works like a charm....
I just bought a regular factory button off of e-bay to work the door locks.

Ummm.. my car honks twice when I lock my car. Flash my fogs, brakes, corner lights, and interior lights when I lock it also. Factory alarm module.
