I thought about buying a Magnaflow exhaust listed here and wondered what everyone thought about them on quality and sound? Thanks
I have Magnaflow Stainless Catback its little to quiet for my taste. Only Problem with Magnaflow is left Tip don't line up & if you got 96-97 Won't hookup they have 2 catalytic converters instead of 1 So S-Pipe in Pictures won't work. I got my Magnaflow Stainless catback for $311 Shipped

Im True-Dual kinda guy. Yet Again i gotta show this Video LOL!

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9...ust_192864.htm

Here Picture of S-Pipe Circled It won't Work with 96-97 2 Catalytic Converter cars. The Ls1 Magnaflow kit don't even come with this S-Pipe.

My 94 has the same issue as far as the tips lining up. It's only off by maybe 1/2 a inch if that. They are on the quieter side until you throw on a cam or some nice Long tubes!

other than the different LSA (accounts for different idle sound),

the 1 into 2 exhaust and mufflre design primarily distignuishes the sound of newer f-bodies from mustangs... (stock with h pipe and true duals)

my mustang had and O/R X with flows and sounded similar to your video.

not to start a arguement or to degrade you or your car.

your car does sound good though.

so ive got a flowmaster 80 series muffler on my 96 T/A with a small cam headers and full bolt ons except EWP and it does sound a bit raspy but its extremely quiet at idle and after about 3k it really gets loud and i love the sound, my buddy has a LM1 and its just as raspy if not worse than my flowmaster, and my flowmaster is just as quiet as any Magnaflow at idle and even louder up top.

not sure why everyone hates on flowmaster soo much to me its a classic sound, where as Magnaflow is more of a new tuner sound.

another benefit of magnaflow over flowmaster (and other cheaper systems) is that it is stainless opposed to alumnized.

stainless steel dumdumdum!

ok i know some of you may get mad but my girlfriend has a 2002 Mustang GT and she bought a Magnapack cat back system and i installed it (yes i worked on a FORD for the first time) any way the car sounds great and the quality was awesome.

I looked on EBAY for her and she got it there for $460 for the cat back and it was a MAGNAPACK not no nock off.

here is the link to the cat back MAGNAFLOW for the Pontiac for your car for $407.00 with free shipping OFF ebay!

I've heard two LT1's with the Magnaflow catback. One was a '96 T/A with stock manifolds and cats. And the other was a '97 Formula with Hooker LT's and no cats. I didn't care for the sound of either. They both even said that my old exhaust setup sounded better even. All I had was Edelbrock TES shorties, no cat, and a Flowmaster 80 series with stock piping. I really did like the sound of it, but I was tired of the rasp and crackle, and I also wanted more power. So, I went with LT's and TD's. lol

Yeah Im gonna go true-duals next time. Cops really don't bother people around here for exhaust. There like 10000 trucks with flowmaster exhaust.

I had 88 Silverado 5.0L 305 5 speed with True-Dual Flowmasters Sounded like Bigblock at high rpms was Sweet. But i sold it to get the Formula.

Yeah, cops don't really seem to mind too much around here either. I revved at a Mustang lastnight, not realizing that a cop was right behind me. I didn't get pulled over for loud exhaust, so I'm assuming he didn't care. Because I highly doubt he didn't hear it. It's ****** loud. lol

i love my magnaflow exhaust... and i had it put together for a lot cheaper than buying the catback system... just bought the muffler with 3'' in/out and the local muffler shop got me 3'' mandrel bent pipe from the cat to the muffler... and then they just bent me 3'' pipe... all together it only cost me $200 and im totally satisfied with it... i would like to have mandrel bent exit pipes, but it sounds fine right now and im happy until i get my longtubes..
but yeah if you are looking for a catback system magnaflow sounds great

lol yeah but im still happy with it... the muffler is stainless and has a lifetime warranty... and the pipe from the cat to the muff was only $30... and the pipe to the tips was like $20... so if i ever have a problem with it its gonna be a cheap and long fix
and thats also nice to be able to pick tips... i got to keep my Ractiv tips that i like a lot...

couldnt beat the deal for being broke and hating the sound of my car lol

Yeah, I know a few performance/muffler shops here in Michigan that will do an install for $250-$300 for parts and labor on a quality flowmaster or magnaflow setup with mandral bent pipes and stainless tips.

Pros: Good quality system, you might like the look better than an engineered cat-back system, you can customize tips/muffler, costs less.

Cons: Not engineered like flowmaster or magnaflow (pipe diameters/muffler choice)---that is unless you have the shop use the same size muffler and pipes, won't have a horsepower guarante.

I really like mine. I have headers and no cat and it is quiet at idle but it screams when you step on it.
