Default Magnaflow exhaust? Advice.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=7738
I thought about buying a Magnaflow exhaust listed here and wondered what everyone thought about them on quality and sound? Thanks

I have a flowmaster and its not the best of sound but my car is for show mostly and like the look of the polished muffler and didn't know much about Magnaflow? Re-doing the suspension now and thought about switching it out.

Love my Magnaflow set up. Not to loud at idle but really opens up when you get on it

I thought I'd give you a more visual image of the differences between Flowmaster and Magnaflow since you have a show car. Magnaflow's muffler is a lot smaller then the Flowmaster. Magnaflow has 3.5" tips and Flowmaster has 3", I personally like the 3" tips because they don't look too large. It looks like Magnaflow includes u-shaped exhaust clamps, if I were you I would get the 3" stainless band clamps for better looks. On sound and backpressure I have heard Magnaflow is superior to Flowmaster.

Are you going to just buy the muffler or an entire catback system? I was assuming catback at first but then clicked on your link and saw the muffler.

I would stay away from the Flowmaster system. Hear all the time about guys that have ran them and didn't really care for them. Besides GMMG, the Magnaflow cat back systems are the way to go.

I was just going to change the muffler because the rest of my pipes are in prettty good shape? Does anyone have the model number of the catback system? I may excahnge the whole thing. I think my car is standard with 3" in and dual 2.5" out. I have the dual Borla tips that aren't bad looking.

My car used to have flowmaster on it, and when I put my long tubes on I put a magnaflow catback on, sounds so much better. It's a lot quieter at idle, but just as loud at wot, and much smoother, do it, you wont regret it.

I've owned both systems, and the Magnaflow wins hands down.

Another thing is that if it's the only exhaust upgrade you do, it sounds good all by itself, but where it really outshines the Flowmaster is if you add a set of headers.

Magnaflow with headers = deep, "tuned" throaty growl

Flowmaster with headers = rasp city

I would also double check your exhaust outlet size from the muffler. It looks like flowmaster is 3" and magnaflow is 2.5" which will be a problem if you just swap mufflers. Also the case size is 17" for flowmaster and 18" for magniflow which isn't that much of a problem, just some cutting. Your best bet might be to sell the flowmaster and get magnaflow.

mags are good my buddy had one on his car. not very loud though. i would suggest SLP loudmouth 1 if you want loud. Loudmouth 2 is a little quieter. and a little smoother sounding

magnaflow is awesome. just about the cheapest stainless exhaust available.

I love mine, be becuase I have long tubes and no cats, and can sit next to a cop, and he wouldnt even look over.

it wakes up BIG time when your foots in it. it has a velvety smooth tone, and no rasp, no drone.

its friggin sweet. if you want more volume, I'd get the magnaflow still, but put a QTP adjustable cutout on it.
