No worries dude I understand. A built M6 will be sick. And that link I sent you was basically showing you there was something better out there and less expensive then that Black one you were looking at. Take your time man. I looked for several months before I bought. Got mine for 5k with 58k and it was garaged it's whole life. All it had was a CAI and Magnaflow. Plus it had just had a full tune ( the receipt was for $1,200) from a Chevy dealership. It was fresh and ready to get get built

DSM?? Lost me..

Sorry. Diamond Star Motors. Thought you might have some import friends on here. It's all the Talons, Eclipses, and Plymouth Lasers made from 1990 to 1999, basically. Their motors are mean. A '92 motor can take 30 psi for thousands of miles stock block. I've found a few good ones.

It all comes down to what you want and how much you want to spend... it's that easy.

I've gone down the track in auto cars plenty of times, and at the end of the day my 6-speed is so much more rewarding. Think of it this way; if you are going after that ultimate time slip, stick to auto, but if you just want to have fun, 6 - Speed. Of course you'll have fun in an auto as well but its different.

Our team runs two 6-speed Camaro's. Both are face plated with some tough parts.

Mine runs mid 11s all day long on motor and I still have a 200 fogger on there, the tranny has seen a bagillion passes and is still alive.

My racing partner is the testament, for those of you who know Taner's 9 second 6 speed, he is arguably the quickest 6 speed fbody (also street registered and plated) out there. His best to date is 9.08 at 155mph. These T56's can take a beating, its the rest of the car that will break with a manual.

It sounds like you're on a budget, maybe you should stick to the auto, cheaper to start. With a manual you WILL break stuff. I've got a stock aluminum drive shaft, and a stock rear end in the trophy case to prove it.

Good luck with YOUR choice.

I don't mind Mustangs. My old man's got a 70 Boss 302...it's badass. Fully restored, the whole 9 yards. If we didn't have Mustangs then that would be one less car on the road to smoke

i said some thing earlier in the thread and felt the need to reiterate.

if you are looking to save every dollar buy a modded car. the only problem is when something is messed up with it you will loose whatever money you did save because the previous owner messed something up.

i dont trust anybody else's work, much less their claims.

buy something near stock and have fun modding it yourself. thats what i enjoy. i dont mod my f-bodies because i have to, i do it because i love working on cars and watching them progress into something totally different.

pick up a stocker and go to town, have fun do what you want. then you will know that you did it, and you trust your own work, and if it isnt something you have done before you have learned.

Exactly. I know every thing that is done to my Car cause I did it, and I know how to troubleshoot it when something goes wrong.

same with my Formula. not with the IROC

right now on the IROC (only paid $1200 though) i have been trying to fix a battery drain problem for weeks chasing wires because of the previous dumbass of an owner butchered the harness. thats the last problem to fix on the IROC though and she will be running solid.
