Trick Flow 21 Degree LT1's - Info & Pics
#81
If I recall correctly they are a little more than the bare 195cc LT casting from TFS. Until the first real run of castings are certified good & we have more than the pre-production pieces we can't quote absolute #'s. To be sure, a nicely finished & fully CNC'd' package is going to be in the $2XXX's vs. the $1500 as-cast assembled price.

Another 4 weeks
Hey guys, I'm sure by now everyone knows that the 21 degree heads were due to ship out the beginning of April. I have been waiting patiently since I heard about them 3 months ago. I just called Trick Flow to verify that they were shipping the heads. I was told that they will not start shipping for another 4 weeks. I'm really fighting the temptation to spend the extra $$ and get the AFR 195's. I have a complete 383 that has been waiting for a set of lungs and it's killing me to wait. Sorry to bring bad news but, If anyone is waiting like I am, it's going to be a little bit longer.

Called summit and trickflow a few minutes ago. Heads are due to ship out may 8. Bare casting will soon follow. I'm almost tired of waiting and getting ready to spring for LE or AI package.

I can't wait to see what a set of those fully ported by either AI or LE can do! With these and the possible Dart SHP block has me rethinking my setup from a LE3 385 to a 21* 427

I agree on the 21* heads, I agree on AI and lets hope Dart makes the SHP a little M block instead. A 600 hp rating on the SHP can be had with the stock block and if your gonna build it big you may as well build it right.

I'm glad to see that there is still enough interest in the LT1 to make new parts. I think it would be great to see if Trick Flow could do something with a intake manifold. Otherwise when I do a good build I'm just gonna do a single plane conversion.
It's good to see that with some good parts the LT1 can still be competitive, heck it never had to be uncompetitive, everybody just chased the LSX engines, easiest path of resistance I guess, lol!

500hp as cast?
These heads are supposed to be able to support over 500 N/A hp as cast. What would it take to get that? I know the increased airflow is the key, but what type of supporting parts (cam, valve train etc.) would it take. My 383 LT1 is 80% done so I guess if I dont already have a winning combo it really doesn't matter. Either way I am curious about the specs of the engine Trick Flow bases that claim on. Any ideas?

The part number is TFS-30400008-CNC. They have not been posted to Summit's website yet.
I just got an email from one of the tech help at Trick Flow and he says he is leaning more toward the end of the month before they are released. He says they had to change something in the machining process.
