well to start you are comparing stock casting to TFS's so I wouldnt say things are fair. But as already pointed out, TFS castings wont be optimal for a stock shortblock.
Go with a stock casting, keep the revs under 6500rpms if you want it to last any amount of time.

i had an OBD1 conversion tune setup by pcm4less. as i have to say is the car runs great, pulls hard, and has little to no cam surge so im gonna say that i think the tune is pretty damn close. i couldnt justify going to a dyno with my current setup but it will definently spend some time there after my new setup is on.

I had great communication with Ai. I vote them. I went out this weekend and drove the car about 300 miles with about 8 roll races from about 15mph. Car ran great and is very, very streetable. With only a 1.8 60' the car went 11.80's at 120 with a mail order tune on heavy *** 17's w/ 3.42 gears through a 6 speed.

oh i fully understand and believe that AI is the 1st choice among LT1 guys, and im gonna wait and hopefully they get in contact and stay in contact with me so i can get setup by them, but if they dont then really there is nothing i can do and ill have to go with my 2nd choice which is LE. either way, im setting up as we speak to start tearing this thing apart and i wanna get it rolling by late janurary

Guys, we appreciate the kind words. Perhaps it would be helpful if we did a heads/cam buyers guide. Here is a brief version specific to this thread:
If you email us and do not receive a reply within 2 days, then we did not receive your email. More often than not we reply within one day. With aggressive spam filtering settings it is also possible that your mail may be deleted by the mailserver. In any case, if you do not receive a response then pick up the phone and call us. We are typically available 7am-7pm and will schedule calls well into the night for our west coast guys. We are a machine shop, so if we do not hear the phone or are already on it, please leave a message rather than call 10x. We check them hourly throughout the day.
It is important for you to have enough information on your project for us to be able to help you. In general if you have a stock shortblock, our recommendations will not vary. We are going to point you to either the $1395 190cc CNC'd GM casting or the 200cc CNC'd GM casting. Depending on drivetrain and use, cam selection will vary only slightly.
When you email or call, we need the following information on your applicaton before we can discuss any variations of the "normal" heads/valvetrain package for stock shortblocks:
Vehicle type & approximate weight
Drivetrain type, gearing, converter info
Tire size
Intended use
Intended fuel type
Miles required between "freshening" or spring replacement
Emissions requirement
Current performance & new goals
Subjective requests (smooth idle, etc.)
Thanks!

I can vouch for these guys - if they get your message, they will call you back within 24 hours, max., unless there are mitigating circumstances. Product and Customer Service (I'm one of their West Coast customers, so contacting me to discuss my project is a late night for them) are second to none, and their familiarity & knowledge with your project's goals is very reassuring.

I would go with an le2 setup by lloyd elliott. Roughly $300 less for 205cc heads, $175 less for intake porting and hes a great guy if you give him a call on the phone. He spent half and hour talking to me and helping me make the best decision. He'll lead you right in the direction your looking to go.

I am very happy with my LE1 set up! Lloyd was always helpful on the phone, he answered all of my e-mails. And everything was sent out when he said it would be ready. I would use Lloyd again for any future builds or upgrades!!!!!!
