Default too many choices!

well im just digging into my winter project... swapping a '94 corvette LT1 and auto into a 94 firebird v6 car. i have decided to do a cam/ valvetrain swap, rear end swap, tune and supporting mods before the motor goes in. so basically i am here looking for advice on cam selection and also converter selection as well.
thanks in advance,
kevin

The converter selection will depend on the camshaft you select.

I once had the cc503, full exhaust, 3600 stall, 3.73's and put down ~330rwhp 335rwtq and trapped 110mph full weight. Had a real nasty midrange with a good top end.

You need to answer some questions to be able to be given a good camshaft recommendation:

Need to pass emissions?
How high are you willing to rev?
Daily driver or weekend warrior?
Want a strong bottom end, midrange, top end or what combination of them?
There are many more but just those 4 would reveal alot.

Well first off you are gonna pay out the butt for AI products (not baggin on them. GREAT stuff!) I would have Lloyd do the intake. Had mine done and it looks great. Don't expect a bunch of HP gains with it. It's good for another 8-12hp and I would suggest running a BBK 58mm T.B along with it.

If you don't have to pass emissions then I would bump up the RPM's to say 6100-6200 and get either Lloyds version of the Crane 227 or the H/C. Those are still emission cams but being you don't want to go too high you are kinda stuck choosing a emissions cam. In fact, Lloyd is sitting on a baby cam I sent back to him and I'm sure he would give you a good deal on it. It's his version of the 227 which would give you a ton of low end and it would die off around 5800rpms. Match that with his LE2 heads, some Long tubes and you would have a strong running LT. You would be somewhere in the 355-365rwh range with that set up with the supporting mods.

custom cam. AI or LE.
Yank or Vig stall.

Depending on the money you have both of their heads are great so if they are in budget plan for more hp. Which will require more money for more supporting mods. Its a never ending soga.

after researching that cam i think i would rather spin the motor a little higher n opt for a larger cam than that... would love to get a set of heads off of him but im afraid i wont have to money for that.
