Default Advice on a cam

I have a 96 WS6. I've got intake, exhaust, headers-the basic bolt-ons. However, I also have port and polished heads, but I don't know what kind of cam to go with them. My friends tell me I should go with an LT4 hotcam, but it's too mild for my taste and I think I could support a bigger cam anyway. Thoughts?

This is my daily driver, but I want it to be a 12 sec street/strip car.

Sounds like the CC503 fits your needs pretty good. I'm also going for a mid to low 12 second daily driver.

That's what I was thinking. I would need to get a stall though.

You should really have a stall with any cam. I would do a stall before I'd put a cam in the car if it were between the two. I did it *** backwards once and that was a mistake, stall before cam.

Really depends on the size cam you plan to run but anything like a 3000+ is a safe bet. I run a 3600 myself and really like it.

Im gonna be running the Advanced Induction 226/234 .569/.570 110 lsa cam kit that has everything you need to take a stock motor to be able to handle that cam (top end wise) as in cam, rockers, pushrods, etc. It is a little bigger than the cc503 but you dont have to shift so high so i think it's a little easier on the stock bottom end. AI says its as big as you wanna go on a stock shortblock auto car. Also i'm running a 3200vig stall which i love. Vig's are expensive but you get what you pay for... I would look into AI at www.advancedinduction.com on here the are a sponsor and i have never heard anything bad about an AI product. Mine should be here in a couple weeks and can't wait.

Same deal here. You can run a 3600rpm stall on a bone stock motor and it will make a huge difference. Don't be afraid to go big on the stall converter either.
