Sorry due to budget cuts the light at the end of the tunnel has been shut off until further notice.

Be careful, the light at the end of the tunnel could be a freight train.

I ******* miss is too man, I promise the site will not go down, I will do everything I can to get that sumnabitch back up. I think it's a little ghetto that they couldn't notify us, in any way, shape, or form, about our SQL database.

I hear ya man. Unfortunately, that's all too common with these large hosting companies. They just don't care about their customers at all. Instead of notifying me when my site got too big for HostGator's shared servers, they just shut the site right down. It was only after I contacted them asking WTF it was down that they would then give an explanation.

At least they gave you an explanation

Honestly, they probably get a ton of people who just ignore e-mails, so they skip that step. When it goes down, you listen loud and clear.
Yeah, it totally sucks though.

If they wanted to take it down they should have posted something, somewhere. I don't care how many people ignore an email, it's the right thing to do. They are a supposedly "professional" hosting company. F- in my book.

It doesn't even matter anymore. We know know we need a bigger DB so this solved a problem sooner than later.

Yeah, unfortunately with the package you guys were on you basically had a ticking time bomb. Do you guys have the attachments go to the database or the file system? That will alleviate some of the congestion (and will also make transferring from one server to another easier) But I don't know if you're even able to log into the AdminCP or not to change that file setting.

Currently working on migrating the database. I'm having to split it up and ****. It's taking longer than I thought. Plus, this is the first time ive ever done this kind of thing, so it's a learning experience.

Database is migrated to the new server. We have to update a few files and have the nameservers update on the domain. Hopefully, she'll be back up and running tomorrow afternoon/night.

Ok, tech is back up for the time being, although the forum is shut down until the migration is complete.

We lost our attachments and pictures, but I believe there may be some way to get them back. I am in talks with the new servers tech support to see what kind of miracles they can work.

More info. as it comes in.
