Do you want to buy some bean stock beans? They look nice!

LOL, jk man, good thing you don't have that installed. I hope you removed the cap and thread locked the rotor screws before you installed your opti.

I was one of the guinea pigs when all_ignition first sprouted up on cz28. I was one of the lucky ones who got a "real" unit. Mine that I got when they first started selling them was for sure OEM, and has lasted ages using the MSD cap/rotor(used since MSD released it).

The part number on the body matched when I checked, and the cap/rotor looked exactly like the one I removed, but I had already purchased a brand new MSD cap/rotor when they first released so I never actually used the all-ignition cap/rotor.

Now apparantly they are all cheap knockoffs with a high failure rate, so buyer beware.

Oh i think that you guys think that the opti i am using is a rebuilt one i bought. Is that right? Thae opti is mine. I just got an msd rebuild kit for it for good measure. So now its vented. It came with the vacume hoses and evrything. And it worked before i pulled the engine so im confident that it will be fine.........at least for awhile.

You'll be fine, and the fact that you thread locked the rotor screws is better.

WTF! I called checker the other day and asked them about the timing set. They said they only had the chain. Thats why i started the thread. So just now on my way back to work from lunch, i stopped by a different store to see if it was right. Well turns out they do carry a set. I do alot of side jobs so i have a commercial account. This just means i can order parts and not pay for them untill they get it in. So theyll have it today after work. And it was 30 freaking dollars! probubly a cloyes (forgot to ask)

As long as it's specifically built for an LT1 and the cam sprocket is splined for the opti, it should be ok. Sealed Power may be the company that supplies the oem.

I don't think Cloyes makes one for LT1's.

Well it was not for an lt1. No cam spline. Im gunna get a lunati 93094. It's the only timing set i can even find. Gm makes them but i cant find a kit. They sell the sprockets and chain all seperate, and it comes to 150$ at best.

It's not that much considering that it will probably outlast most everything else in the motor.
