Default i need a little help

I just changed the headers on my 95 lt1 trans am. Pacesetter LT's painted. after install car misses and hesitates when accelerating. Car runs fine if i don't give it too much throttle. the heavier the load i put on it the worse it misses. I put it on the datalogger and it shows that it is dropping timing. it goes from around 30 to 40 to around 17 when i put it to the floor. Maybe O2's??? need a little help.

the main problem people have when installing long tubes is the spark plug wires getting burnt by the headers if it ran fine before you put the headers on i would go back over everything make sure all the plugs are tight spark plug wires in the right place and nothing is burnt

Definitely start with plugs and wires. Make sure you don't have any wires crossed and that all wires are clear of the primaries.

already done. car has been looked over many times and i cannot find anything. it throws no codes and runs just fine through out the rpm range if i just let it wind out. if i lay on the gas a little it misses. if i go up a gear it misses even more. its kinda hard to explain. the more load i put on it the worse the hesitation gets. New Opti.

I don't mean to rehash what I've already suggested, but TRIPLE check that you plugged the wires back in on the right cylinders.

I have heard of people having very bad knock retard when they switched to LT's. Some install a LT4 knock module because it is less sensitive.

Also o2's could be an issue. You have them connected with o2 extensions? You could try unplugging both o2's and driving it around for a while and see if anything changes.

I want to say Wires , What kind are you running? I had this same issue, It pulled hard still but there was a mis , And more noticeable in higher gears My Coil was cracked and 2 plug wires were burnt

How do you have the wires routed, Did you run the car at night and check for any sparks jumping?

I killed my O2's with my new Headers, they just went out I guess.

I would look into the O2's, then check into the Knock Sensor and possibily any Intake leaks.

I'd suggest looking into the O2's also, did you buy extensions? Make you own?

I made my own the first go around and my car done the same thing, I bought new O2's and extensions and all was well.

I've checked the wire routing and found nothing burnt or arcing. My O2's are pretty old. I've never changed them and have had my car for about 50,000 miles. I'm going to unplug the o2's and see if anything changes. I'll get back with yall. Thanx for the info.

Are the wires arching off the headers?? What wires did you use?
