96 was the only Vette year LT4 and 97 was the only F-Body LT4 but only in a select few SS and Firehawks

I've never heard of one. There may be some leftovers that suddenly appreared from the dust in 1998, but never installed in a '98 model.

1996 grandsport vettes and all 1996 manual vettes got the lt4 and as said above so did a very few amount of 1997 firehawks and SS's

According to GM and the NHRA they built LT1 Firebirds and Camaros in 1998!! (I've never seen a real one). I think it was a Body-In-White/Crate LT1 deal.
