I decided the D-1SC wasn't going to be enough, couldn't find a buyer for just the head unit, so I sold the entire kit for what I paid for it and decided to go turbo.

It'll most likely get a cage but not before I get kicked out of the track for not having one. The baby seat thing is the moniker I've got for the car now since I've got a little one on the way. I figure it would be cool to toss a baby seat in the back and make a good solid pass with it.

Paid a little over $1600 for the FAST XFI box, Injector Harness, and 3Bar Map sensor during a sale.

The K-Member I picket up with the A-Arms for $550 shipped IIRC and that was with the K-Member being used and the A-Arms are brand new.

there is atleast $700 or so in parts there, never mind all the time and effort weld it all and make sure it fits. by all means someone at home with a welder should do it.

if the pics by RealQuick are of your kit fabbed with a stock K-member you may have issues with the BMR K-member

if not then disregard

otherwise things look pretty good except one thing I see... why is the primary semi smashed when this kit is being fabbed?

Should be fine with the tubular K... if it is designed to clear the stocker than it should clear the tubular. What kind of issues do think will come up (just out of curiosity)? Only thing tubular adds is more hand clearance. We don't have a"turbo" k like the LS1's, so all mount points motor mount points are in the same area.

The primary is flattened because it kept hitting the steering shaft during install (putting the header up from the bottom). It is just a flat spot, not dented inward (pics look like it is more than it is).

I have seen headers have small contact issues with tubular K-member when they do not with stock. There is no knocking of your system, but we would have done it with the k-member being used.

I'm sure the dent isn't going to hurt power, but when custom fabricating something it's just not something you expect to see.

again not trying be negative or knocking your system, but was just asking out of my own off work curiosity( sp?)

The car should make some great power once completed..good luck.

Yeah, I noticed the dents in the first pic but as soon as I saw them I knew EXACTLY what they were for. I've seen headers with clearancing like that only a little smoother. I can handle it not being smooth so long as functionality isn't affected.

We'll see what happens when the kit gets delivered. I'm going to mock everything up on the stand and see what happens.

Because everyone denounces things they do not understand
hahahahah you aren't serious are you???? The simple fact that I DO understand opti's is why I threw mine in the trash can... And here is why... Cause the opti is a massive piece of ****. High cylinder pressures and gobs of power will simply overpower it. Not saying you can't make power without it. This setup will make power but the fact that he is going with a FAST XFI unit he has the ability to run a crank trigger and true distributor. Whether that is in the budget is his personal preference. But for high power applications an MSD crank trigger and true rear mount distributor will **** on an optispark unit anyday of the week. And not only because the opti fails with moisture, but because it's just not a reliable piece of equipment at over 500-600 hp and 7000RPMS.... And this combo is going to make more than that at full boost....

Show me how many 9 second or faster LT1's are still running opti's.... chances are there are not that many. Not saying there is none but I guarantee if you look under the hoods of the big dogs an opti is nowhere to be found....

But back to the original reason for the post. Sean I love the build. Turbo is the way to go, hence my decision to swap over to one at some point when it's financially feasible....
