Sensor Problem
Sensor Problem So when i was installing my headers i broke off a sensor, Towards the front of the drivers side head under the header. Its deffinatly a coolant sensor, whats it called though because i checked autozone.com for a new one and was unable to locate my part.
I agree...there are actually two "temp sensors". One is in the cylinder head, as you know, and one in the front of the water pump. The auto part stores sometimes get them confused.
autozone didn't carry it when I looked 2 days ago but I found it at kragen's. carquest, and napa all for right around 20 dollars. Just make sure you tell them sending unit or you will get the wrong one. Make sure it is the sensor that has one big prong right in the middle and a smaller one of to the side of the connector.

Verdad Gallardo No-o-o.....When I was putting in a new Opti a few weeks back, I decided to change the water pump, since it's 13 years old, as it was already off. I took the sensor out of the old pump, and as I was installing it in the new pump, the socket slipped......

here's off the LS1tech LT1/LT4 parts list section :
LT1 coolant temp sensor- gauge (cyl head) (AC-D #213-77) (93-97) = 25037332 (f. 10096151)
Here's a link for it on GM parts direct for $15.12 + shipping. I imagine its cheaper at "vatozone" but in case they're not an an option :

I probably could have avoided breaking it, but my header install was not going to good. So you could say i was being alittle "rough" with things.
Little did i know the drivers side was the easier of the two haha.

I check it almost every day, and at the longest 3 days.
