Default What kind of gaskets for ported heads?

Im curious as to what kind of gaskets you guys use for
ported heads and intake? All I see is stock sized Felpro
gaskets Won't the gaskets interfere with the flow of the
heads and ported intake?

Head gaskets aren't a concern. The main thing to watch is when using LT4 parts. You must get the correct intake gasket. The LT4 race gasket PN is 12367777.

Im looking for header and intake gaskets.
The heads and intake ports are bigger than
the gasket openings

For headers, I always used to use 1406 Fel-Pros. They were slightly larger than a stock exhaust port. When doing the exhaust, I'd have the port matched to the gasket opening.

For intake, I always used the GM/Fel-Pro gasket. If you're using these and still getting interference, it sounds like the port has been enlarged too much. I guess you haven't hit a coolant passage yet?

FWIW, I now use Earl's Pressure Master gaskets. They've got removable inserts which came in very handy when I switch from stock heads (d-port) to my larger AFRs(square port).

I've always used Fel-pro gaskets on my car... I've been happy with them.

Just wondering if I could trim the header gasket
or is that a stupid idea. Will that cause header
leaks? I just don't understand why there no
larger sized gaskets made. No problem finding
them for mustangs lol

The Fel-Pro 1406s are larger than the stock ports. The only thing they wouldn't fit were my AFR race heads(210+) I "guess" you could trim them since they're not sealed on the end or anything. The Earl's fit almost perfect on the square ports of my 210s.
