That car looks something similar to the car used in the Knight Rider movie "Knight Rider 2000"

But very impractical for use back then & ugly as sin.

EDIT: I see others have mentioned the Knight rider movie as well...

I remember having a hotwheels toy of that car

GM used it as a template for the 93-97 firebird, thank god they didn't borrow too much from the looks department
