Typical Question i have a 94 z28, lastnight it was overheating, im am not losing coolant nor is there a leak of any sort. this morning i put in a new thermostat and that didnt fix t either,and i have a brand new water pump... so i heres the question....
air pocket in the motor?..if so..jack it up and squeeze the upper radiator hose to find the air pocket

When you put the new water pump on, did you bleed (or burp as some people call it) the system? You could be on the right track with the air pocket. Squeezing the hose won't help much if any... you have to crack open the bleeders.
Is it blowing white smoke? What does the oil look like?
Make sure you installed an LT1 (tall) thermostat, not an SBC (short) one.
To eliminate air pockets, use the bleeder screws.
Run until the tstat opens, let cool, top off; repeat until it stays full.

yes i bled it, and i completely forgot about the bleeders , thank you, lol...and im gonna go ahead and try to do the air pocket....also i do have a LT1 thermostat and it doesnt smoke at all so, ..

Before replacing head gasket check oil if it has coolant. Blown head gasket will give white foggy smoke, if you dont see it might not be head gasket. It could possibly be bad temp sensor or something else even. Keep doing checks.

Check the fans.
verufy that your fans are working and that your car is actually overheating by dropping a thermometer in your radiator after it is warmed up and then compare your actual temp to the temp on the guage. It is not an exact science but if your gauge is 80 degrees off like mine was it will tell you where to start looking.

im sorry this is way off subject but i hear everyone on here complain about how hard these cars are to work on. damn i really wish i was a better business man, wasnt in the military and could afford to open a shop. i believe these cars are easy as **** to work on. the main problem i come into are having to pull my intake off. to pull the trans you pop the intake to life the motor enough to rebuild the bottom end. pop the intake. but just my two pennies. i just got reading this and started thinking that. hell i would say while you have the heads off go ahead and get them ported and polished lol. but again to save money and the hassle. check all your sensors and plugs. make sure a stupid plug didnt fall off or anything. does any lights come on when it starts to over heat? or even while its still cold? good luck on this i know the pain. mine come out to be a bad waterpump. that could be a possibility. just fault parts.
