Perhaps I didnt explain enough but by saying "right combination of parts" I meant the correct parts but also shifting it where it needs to be which is the ultimate key. But yes some people may miss the boat so to clarify for the "noobs"....assuming proper setup car with say a GM847 shifting where it wants to be is going to out run a properly setup car with a hot cam shifting where it wants to be. But....If you do not rev the cam to where it wants to be then you will run **** times. So a massive GM847 shifting at 6000rpm will get its *** handed to it by a Crane 227 shifting at 6000rpm. Now if were talking 6500+ then its a different story. So moral of the story...select a camshaft that fits where your willing to rev a car to otherwise you have a half assed setup.

I'm going to be a broken record and agree with the majority. I really am impressed with the CC503 on stock heads. You might want to look into a custom grind cam if you have a few extra bucks to shell out. I ended up going with a custom grind cc503 from Bret Bauer, no complaints over here, very happy with my outcome. Everyone has there own opinions and ideas for setups. Just giving you mine.

Mind sharing what the specs on your custom cc503 were?

I'm thinking about the 226/234 cam from AI which is similar, but with a custom grind for my altitude and idle requirements lol.

Even had a dyno sheet, unless he was blowing steam
my friend locally made peak power @ 58xx rpm and here's another sheet I dug up

cc503 is working out great for me. One of LE's grinds would probably run a little better even. Times in sig.

Even though I've found multiple dynos that all show the same thing, they must ALL be wrong. The 113-115mph traps are wrong too. The pulling on a 400 wheel hp GTO videos were fake too.
