+1, and ditch the shorties for some long tube headers. Trust me.

Yeah the gains with shorties over the stock manifolds will be really minimal...I would at least throw some mid-lengths on. The Macs are a nice mid header for the LTx. I had a set on my 94 and the low and mid range power felt real nice. Up top was sluggish.

Well it's better then nothing I guess. Look into those wires and plugs I recommended and you should be good to go. You could also try and sell them headers and then buy something else.. Good luck!

hahahaha i was thinking about that seriously, i would feel guilty. Has anyone tried that Jet performance tuning module? Some guy from jet told me they got 23hp to the wheels on the dyno from an LT1 camaro with headers and a c.i.a. but he said since mine is higher milage i can see 15 to 17hp. But ive heard a pcm tune is better then a module from other people.

I would just get a mail order tune form www.Madtuner.com. Or one of the other tuners if you want. You get a better tune and can do what you want with it such as EGR delete, higher rev limiter, and different shift points (Auto trans).

Just tell whomever got them for you that there was a re-call on them and your car might blow up if you run them

LOL, that's pretty good actually. And don't get any chips or modules or any other BS like that, get a tune...after the long tubes.

another thing i was gonna ask, it looks like i could put them in from the top, but what would be easier? going in from the top or installing from the bottom?

I don't remember exactly but I think on my buddies car (he installed shorties, and now regrets it and will be installing LT's...*hint* *hint*) we installed one from the top and one from the bottom. Don't remember which ones.

As hard as it is to install headers on these cars I really dont see why anyone would want to install shortys. Can someone tell me what advantage shortys have over long or mid tube headers? I just installed my Mac mids and love them. They fit great. I had to install both from the bottom. If I were you I would find some way of selling them to some other poor sap. I've been in that same situation of feeling guilty before. You just have to be clever about it hehehe.

I really like the LPP headers.

Also if memory serves me its driver side from top and passenger form bottom.

the DS goes in from the top and PS goes through the bottom, take your spark plugs out when you are weaseling them in there and then put them back in while it is set in place but BEFORE you try to bolt them up. Make sure you remove your steering shaft and have a good time
