I thought mine was moderately quiet until I got pulled over for loud exhaust the other night. lol

we'll see how much quiter the cats make it, if its not enough ill have to sacrifice some flow and get rid of the bullets for im thinking those other dynomax mufflers, they're long, skinny and red. I think they are called dynomax glasspacks.

can anyone tell me what these are? they all are on true dual over the axle setups which i am going to be doing soon

i got a 50$ noise ordinance ticket a while back.. was just driving down the street, wasnt even goofing off..

lol. I was taking it easy. The cop did a u-turn to get behind me, because I didn't have my front plate on. So, I was trying to take it real easy while he was following me. But, he still said something about the exhaust when he walked up to the car. Luckily, I just got written warnings for both.

What tha.. I just found out that since I have a year model 1995 (or older) vehicle, I have to perform an ASM2 emissions test??? Damn, there goes my true duals idea (my 1995 Formula only came with one cat).. pout. I am told that if the car came with one cat, I am stuck with one cat. If I added another and had true duals installed, I would fail my state inspection. Can this be true???

"The Two-Speed Idle tailpipe emissions analyzer currently used in certified state inspection stations has two significant limitations for use in the Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth areas. First, it does not test the vehicle for emissions under load and acceleration, as would be expected of the vehicle during normal operation on the road. Second, since it only tests for
carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, it does not test for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) which have been determined to be a major contributing factor in the formation of ground level ozone.

With the ASM2 test, the vehicle is driven on a dynamometer, acting as
a treadmill stress test for the vehicle. It is a cost-effective method to
measure pollutants under realistic driving conditions. The three main
exhaust pollutants measured are hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and
oxides of nitrogen. If there is an excessive amount of any of these
three pollutants, a vehicle will fail the emissions test."

this is the sniffer test. If you have 2 cats, I think you'd be even better than stock.

Now, since you did modify the exhaust, they might fail you automatically on that. Who knows.

if you UPGRADE to what GM says "performance dual cat exhaust" on a car that was not equipped with that system it is still legal since a newer year has it. as long as you have two cats you can legally run dual exhaust,that's what i was told by an emmisions tech.
