Holy cow, how did i miss this thread lol I was googling and randomly came across this image, that said it was an LT1, but it made me scratch my head haha

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238627169

Then I went to the album and saw more and didn't know WHAT to think haha

So did you modify a ford distributor and put the Opti guts in it? I personally would've stuck with the crab-cap style for easier wire routing, aside from not having to custom make anything more heh.

It all is very well done though!

And SS.SLP, not sure if you understand this about the timing setup, due to the question about the timing cover (which I may have just misunderstood your question). He's running a dry setup, so what you see is what you get, no need for any further covering of that.

That's one of the sickest things I have seen in a long time for a LT1

I might have misunderstood something but is that an ACTUAL distributor, and not an Opti? Or is it what I originally though, an opti inside a distributor housing? I won't peep if you don't want to say it in the open but will PM me

It is a Jessel Distributor, belt driven off of a Jessel Belt Drive timing set. Pretty common among sbc motors.

It only has a rotor inside to distribute the spark.

I am running a crank trigger and a cam signal sensor along with a FAST XFI ( Not shown)

You reallllly don't think outside the box do you?

What makes an Optispark just that? A DISTRIBUTOR WITH AN OPTICAL SENSOR! Just what the Vortec crab-caps are. Sure the key defining feature of the Optispark is it being front mounted, but that's besides the point. The point is, you can stuff the optical sensor into any housing it'll fit into -_-

Stop being an *** now, OK?

I don't look much into the SBC racing aftermarket stuff. Figured since it was posted here that you were running the Opti guts inside

Tried finding an image of the optical setup that was used in this CPI (not CPSI) 4.3 I was working on a year or so back, but sorry no pretty pictures for you on that. I have some on the latter part though!

Speartech thought it was a decent idea:

A bunch of others as well... (talked about throughout and worked on in the end)

Sorry that the troll followed me in here, Roadtrip :\ I'm done posting (see: helping deface) your thread!
