Default Front Mount Distributor Jessel Belt Drive, teaser pic

I was going to show it off at the Shootout, but I couldn't wait.. I made a little progress tonight. Here is the new distributor location, maybe the first for a LT1. It should work flawlessly with my XFI.

Do they make the full kit for the Jesel belt drive now? Actually for the LT1? I saw one years ago but it was a custom made front cover and such.

As I stated last week looks damn good Brady!

How does the timing cover work now?
Are you running a remote mounted electric water pump?

I dont really have the room to put a rear mount distributor on my setup, because of the nitrous solenoids and my FPR is mounted back there. This made things a little easier to work on, plus it looked cool.

Not at this time Jessel does not make a kit for the lt1. I placed a call to them to see if they would be interested in taking a look at my converted timing cover, and they said they would like to see it. The Jessel belt drive kit will work with the factory water pump in place, but not with the front mount distributor, so i had to fab up some custom lt1 water pump flanges.

Ray at Jessel said they would consider making a lt1 kit if there was a market for it, i told him that McLeod built us a SFI scatter shield last year because there was a market for that. I told him i would post up some pics and spark some interest, not too many people know it can be done, and I know of a few people that would buy an off the shelf lt1 kit.

I knew that was custom and not a shelf item!

I mean, what did you have to do to your timing cover to make it work? You mentioned a custom timing cover...

This is a pic of a SBC cover gasket on top of a lt1 cover gasket, the difference had to be made.

I love it! That just looks cool! Maybe one day I'll have the cashola to do thing like you Brady. LOL You are always working on that car. Even though it took you a few years to finish you have really did a number on just a bolt-on car.

Will it be ready by June for Burnin the Bricks? I'd love to see it in person!

It should be ready for PINKS in March, then LTX in May, so ya it should be in Pampa for June.
