part it out? are you all ******* crazy? you could buy a 30 dollar oil pump and 30-40 bucks in oil and a filter and have the thing swapped out in a day and worst case scenario turn around and sell the car for a grand more and make money off of it. i wish the guy was closer to me cause thats exactly what i would do. or swap my 383 into it. i had the pump go out in my car about a month ago. and the next day it was on the lift and off the lift in 6hrs.

id say buy it its a good price. and the way hes defending himself kinda shows that it is wat it is if you ask me. noone that was tryin to fool ppl would fight it so much. and also if he was tryin to fool ppl y would he post on a site with many knowledgable ppl? and if it is messed up lik everyone else said part it out and make a profit

lol i never said i didnt trust him .....i bought the car...i will soon start the processs of getting it fixed...and painted i hope by next weekend...and im not gonna part it out if its brok e well just the engine because ima put an ls1 in it if all else fails...

Default Got the car

well the motor turns over ...runs....oil psi rises and falls so i cut it off...there was harly any oil in the car......lots of engine noise ....maybe loose rockers and exhast leaks....mot sure ....sounds like poo tho..

what would make the oil psi do that

Im vary happy with the car ...im just hoping it runs as good as it should

if there isnt much oil in the car that would explain the pressure. the rise and fall is from the sump being dry and trying to pump air. change the oil and see what happens

lol he said he had drained it to look for shavings well i got under it and looked at the most obvious...the sending unit....it was cracked.....went and got one put oil in it and the oil pressure is fine lol......now it needs the rockers set they are loose as crap.....then we will see... i also looked up all the numbers and it is all wat he said....

lol Sure, it SOUNDS easy if that is the problem. Which my point is proven as it WASN'T! Now, thankfully (so far) it is just the sending unit being bad, but what if it was multiple spun bearings? Now you're looking into more money to get the motor redone, or at least the crank reground and new rod and main bearings. Then you still have to figure out if that was the only problem. At the end of the day he could've sunk another $500 into it, and that doesn't factor in his time. Where as had he just parted it all out to begin with, there wouldn't have been the chance of dumping more and more money to track down the problem. Now mind you, I would've checked things over as well and made sure it wasn't something simple, as it turned out to be. So I'm glad he got a car for dirt cheap and only needed an hour and $10 to fix
