Default piston help

aight so im puttin new pistons in the car but i need help finding some i wanna go forged and i wanna keep the cost under 400 is this posibile and if so what kind and were kidn i find them?

I don't think you can find a decent set of forged aluminum 4.030" pistons for under 400 new. I'd check the classifieds.

You can find cheap forged pistons for around $400 from a few vendors, but where are you going to get the money for the machine work, bearings, assembly, etc.?

Look at the Mahle PowerPak, once you consider the included rings, pins, coatings they are a very good value.

IF you find something that actually fits your current wishes it will probably be a thick parasitic ringpack that causes excessive bore wear and the piston will likely be heavier adding stress to the rod bolts, probably not the step forward you were hoping for.

the bottom end crank rods etc. all aready ared forged the im just changing the pison from a dish to a dome or flattop piston for more compresion

You can get a nice set of JE forged alum pistons in any style you want for a ~$700 on Summit, but that's more than you were looking to spend.

First off, do you really need forged pistons? are you planning to spray? Look at the 427,,Hyper pistons.....

with boost I wouldn't risk hyper pistons, n/a and moderate n2o I'd be a little more willing
