Help please!!!
car has high idle at times, can't get above 2500 rpm without choking like it is starving for fuel and will not shift. It ran just fine earlier than bam, it is kicking a code or codes but I have no code reader soooo, does this sound familiar to anyone?? TPS maybe???

^^^for the gas money I would probably be better off just going and buying one but I would like to meet some more local or somewhat local fbody enthusiasts but I would rather do it on better terms as in if I ever get this damn thing running right. When it is running right I will make a trip to fullerton but until then I think I will be bumming around cow town

maybe some more info will net some better results, I was SUPPOSED to be going to get the dyno tune in the morning so I went to readjust my rockers. I adjusted the rockers and fired it up, idled fine ran good, I took it out on the street, mashed it went sideways through 1st and 2nd, car was running great. I brought it back to the shop and shut it off 10 minutes later I went back out started it up, it idled kind of high and slammed into reverse, idled down in gear then almost died going into drive. I took off normally and it hesitated to shift into second so I gave it more gas and it started bucking and would not go over 2500 rpm and would not shift. I limped it back with SES light on. I checked for vaccum leaks, something unplugged, loose grounds...nothing. I disconnected the battery to clear codes, started it back up and it set SES light immediately and still idling weird, haven't test drove it but the problem is still there.

Buying one would be a good investment, its a great tool. The one I have goes for about 120, it's just a simple code reader, same one's that AZ used to let customers use. But if you don't want to buy one, handing me a 20 is much easier and you'll know exactly what your codes are. It's your choice, I've got some free time tonight.

well I got a scan tool and it came back with a TPS code, I reaed the TPS with a multimeter and it checked good so I started inspecting the wiring and I found that the MAP wires got pinched between the alternator bracket and the clamp on the coolant tube that runs along the PS valve cover, I cut out the damaged section and soldered back together, rerouted the wires and it is all better
