Look here for specifics of a LT1 4th gen.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...ewbie-faq.html

There are some notable differences with a '93 Fbody and a '94-'97 Fbody.
The '93 is has no MAF sensor and runs in Speed Density. The '93 A4 tranny is a 4L60, not a 4L60E, meaning that it is not computer controlled, it has a TV cable. The '93 M6 tranny is a T56 with slightly different gears that a T56 found in a '94-'97 Fbody T56. The '93 oil pressure sensor is located right above the oil filter, unlike the later '94-'97 where it is located on the tob of the block in the rear on the drivers side. The intake is unique to the '93 where the fuel rail cross over is in the back, not the front, making the fuel feed lines unique as well. Other than that, nothing else comes to mind.

The 4L60/700r4 in the 93 is a 30 spline vs. the older 27 spline.

A good catback and switch to longtubes if you want a little more power...also put a 3200 stall in the trans... should run damn good.

I guess because you won't have any computer controlled related problems. But by that same reasoning, a T56 will own all.

This is from my own experance when you start making over the 500 hp mark if you turn the pressure up to save the clutches the timing gets off. in third gear you have to release the 2/4 band and at the same time apply the 3/4 clutch pack. all has to be at the same time if not the band releases to soon a flash in rpms the clutch to soon bind at shift. with an E all of this is done with a computer controlled valves. with a plane 700r4/4l60e you can go with a full manual valve body, and all is done with valves. Some will say get this guy to build it and it wont and we have had X number of guys use our transmisions and this dont happen. It may not at first but after a little wear it will . just ask the fast guys not the trans guys. I dont want to make tranny guys mad but it seems the old trans works better. And i had all these problems a few years back so they may have re invented the wheel and i just never got to use it.

*cries*

I think this is the 3rd or 4th thread of just 09

I can't list all the differences anymore, I'm burnt out. You'll just have to do an advances search in the LT1-LT4 subforum and read the thousand or 2 threads listing the differences.

As did every other Lt1.
The 93s simply had an older design, they started using (stronger) powdered metal rods in later production years.
