How is the electric water pump hooked up on a 96 lt1 camaro. Thinking about buying one and need to know how mount it and wire it up. Thanks to anyone with info
I would suggest putting it on its own relay and using a Key-On power wire to to trip the relay, as well as a manual switch to circulate the water when the engine is off if you wish.
The stock relays in pass cars in general are pretty taxed and adding another accessory, esp a water pump that pulls some significant amperage is just asking for trouble in my book.
I think painless makes a wiring kit for the pump. You're better off doing it right the first time than hacking into some other wire that has power and losing an engine to overheating.

All have their advantages and disadvantages. The Meziere requires trimming of the fan shroud, while the CSR requires trimming of the water pump housing.
I am running the CSR pump and am very happy with the results.

You can leave it protruding from the timing cover. Or, you can pull off the timing cover, remove the drive gear (2 small bolts), and plug the hole in the timing cover with a freeze plug or a quarter and JB Weld.
the only problem i had with the CSR is that the propeller can come unscrewed under hard acceleration.it will unscrew until it hits the housing then blow the fuse.i had that happen to me at the track and i had to get towed home.now i just have the CSR for a back up
Mine is ran off the pump circuit and has no issue It was a Ko circuit for me, I also have a led ran to the gauge cluster so I know its on, I think this may be different between years as we tried it on a 94 and the circuit wasnt live with the ko
No the circuit on my car is live when the key is on , once the key turns on pump turns on , air pump has been deleted and I just used these wires. In your fuse box where your air pump fuse it I just soldered into the back side, If I recall right it is a brown wire.
