You can't put a number on exactly how much horsepower you're losing, but my best guess is "some." If they are burned there's a good chance that you have spark jumping as well. Take a look at the engine running in the dark and watch the light show.

haha the light show..i never thoguht about doing that to my car, even though i might have some burnt wires...is there any wires longer in lenght then the stock ones? like a build kit for wires, i wanna run my wires through the top of the valve covers so they dont hit the headers but i dont know what wires are good that are longer in lenght.

www.thunderracing.com has an OTVC kit that includes everything you need to do this. I used this setup on my car and it works nice. Keep in mind that you will need to cut the wires to fit and crimp on your own connections (included with the kit).

Between 1 and 50. Complete pull-it-out-of-my-*** guess because there's no way of knowing.

When a spark jumps from the wire to any other metal surface, that particular cylinder either doesn't fire at all or has a very weak spark. This can result in incomplete combustion or a dead cylinder altogether - not good for power at all. Additionally, if the air/fuel mix isn't combusting completely, the O2s will read a rich mixture and try to lean out the a/f ratio.

Basically, it's not good. Get it fixed!

if you want to go over the valve covers, go with the MSD universal wires.. much better than Taylors.. i run standard MSD wires under the headers and havent burnt any.. i do use heat sheils/wire protectors though

Put it this way, when just one wire is burnt and you have only one dead cylinder, you'll know the car will run like ****. No two or more burned wires, and the car will be a dog...
