By May I won't be driving an LT1 anymore..
I'd never swap an LS in my car
I'm too narrow minded I guess
not a big fan of gen III+ stuff honestly, awesome motors and make great power but I don't know just doesn't do it for me I guess. I'd def rock a C5/6 or GTO but LS1 fbodies don't do it for me

I would have just swapped an LS/T56 into my car is I could do it over again.
When I got my car it was an auto and I spun 2 rod bearings and broke 3 top rings within the first 85 miles of owning it. Rebuilt the motor with everything in my sig and then last winter I swapped it to T56. I wish I would have just got a LS/T56 and been done with it. Oh well, someday when I have money I'll do it and put my motor and tranny in an RX7 LOL

I hear you there. I think that LTx TAs are badass, but I'm switching to the LS front clip on my car. But I'm doing it because I personally like the LS front better on camaros and I need some better headlights so I can actually see when I drive at night
all too often I see a person dump an LT1 that has a hypertech tune, shorty headers, airfoil, and a welded in muffler in favor of an LS1 because they believe you can't make an LT1 fast.
not saying this is the case with you but it's like an old wound for me lol

Now, on a bit more serious note. Is it 98-02 body style that doesn't do it for you or the actual ENGINE?
Nice, dude! Should be pretty kickass
I've gone back and fourth about a possible gen III/IV swap for myself in the future, but I dunno. LT1s, specifically built ones are getting harder and harder to find and I love how much people underestimate a well modded LT1 too, so I'll probably just end up keeping my LT1 and have something else with an LSX to go with it a few years down the road. Plus I should be able to reach my goals with the LT1 without a lot of trouble.

Let me play the card your friends do on me: That would make you a contradicting idiot then. If you say that Gen III stuff doesn't do it for you but you'd own a C5/C6 or GTO, all have GEN III motors, then you clearly have a few screws lose.

Trust me, I love built LT1's, and I'm not switching ONLY for more power. The motor is newer and the trans has been rebuilt. Plus it's a better foundation for when I start to tear into it.
And the whole argument of "anyone just cam an LS1 and be fast! without any work".. Yeah.. So, you're telling me, you DON'T want to go fast, sooner? Ok, whatever floats your boat.

as far as the 98-02 they just don't excite me as a whole I guess, the car/motor is too played out in my eyes or atleast that's how I feel.
nothing wrong with that, just saying there's is more of a level of appreciation in my eyes for a quick lt1 vs a quick ls1, because I realize how many disappointing ones there are out there. I'm not trying to steer you away from your decision or tell you you're wrong for doing it. just posting my own personal opinion on the matter.

And yes, I agree on appreciating a fast LT1 that runs the same ET as a fast LS1 more for sure. But, I'm still going LS1.
LS1 FTL, just kidding both are great motors. Stock for stock I prefer the lt1's low end grunt and exhaust note over the ls1's. However the higher rpm scream of an ls1 is something to savor. I can not fault you for the ls1 swap
you can say I'm pessimistic or maybe just cautious. But nothing very good ever happens to me. So in this case, I would be estatic but very cautious that the deal actually goes through. May is a long time away.
but good luck, I'd do the same. Easy power, what's not to like.

Not really my thing, not to mention having to make the drive down there. Only to top it off with my hatred of driving in cities lol And I've been to Atl multiple times, so I know what a PITA it can be

UPDATE: I dropped my car off today, also to have a Patriot 225/229 cam, PAC 1218 valve springs, and an LS2 timing chain put on the motor.. I should have it running next week.. It's gonna have a quick tune on it, then in a couple months I'll have a Racetronix fuel pump and an LS6 intake manifold ready for a dyno tune.
