Build quality in many cases. Track record goes a long way with me, that's why I got my Promags. They are tried and true. Crane Golds are also good.

Some off brands have been known to grenade and send lots of bits of metal into your engine. Nobody likes that too much. IMHO, you don't skimp on the valvetrain.

Those are only roller-tipped rockers. Not full roller rockers.

I have to agree with Ricky Bobby. You need to make sure you have a quality, full roller rocker. I also run the Promags, although there are a couple of other good brands out there. Trim costs in areas that are not quite so critical.

Those look like aluminum full roller rockers. They look nice, but that's all I can tell you from a picture.

I also run pro-mags,but just letting him know of a cheaper way to go,never buy some cheap full roller rockers, but if he wanted to settle for a just a roller tip they would be fine on a mild set-up.

I got these from a KMJ Perf. out of Ames Iowa, they are full roller, stainless steel 1.6s SA, the company that makes them are PRW out of Cal., the quality looks good, they also have a decent track record, the price is right too @ 169.99. There also available in 7/16 NSA.

1) I just dont like aluminum rockers.

2) I especially dont like "cheap" aluminum rockers (which these are).

3) I've seen a lot of bad luck out of them, wearing out, breaking etc on BBC's. They might last on a mild LT1, but I'm not going to try them.

IMO, if those are what you already have, sell them and get a better, more proven rocker.

these look like a really quality piece to me. Thinking about trying them as just a bolt on before I do the cam. If they hold up good I'll leave them in. If not I'll swap for a set of pro mags, but I'm sure they'll do great for my very mild build and the price cant be beat.

I went with forged aluminum. The forged aluminum rockers have been proven time and time again to reduce precious weight from the valvetrain opposed to steel and are just as strong.

I guess I'm going to be the oddball out. I used Proform roller rockers from jegs and had no issues on my 96 impala SS. If I had something I was really racing hard in there would be no way I would of used those rockers. I will say this though, that car has seen 140 mph many of times with those rockers.

The Proform rockers are accually not as bad as some may think, they hold up fairly well, its there Shift lites you need to steer clear of .
