Has anyone tried extrude-honing the stock manifolds?

I have heard of SLP selling extrude honed stock manifolds. I heard it showed gains, but nothing more than the marginal gains that can be had with a pair of shorties. But if you were in a racing bracket that only allowed you to use stock manifolds, then that would be a viable option.

I remember seeing fully ported stock manifolds that gave decent gains for an Lt1 but that was years ago, not sure anyone still does that. Thats a true sleeper deal.

Agreed. Everyone who is an exhaust expert needs to tuck their yam sacks back in their pants. Significant gains can be achieved just using an ORY. It used to be a real popular mod years ago when no one had any money, nor were there any exhaust options out there yet for the LT1 to just gut the cat and run stock exhaust. Cars that were pulling low 14's were easily getting into the mid 13's.

Yup

Its pointless not to get a set of even used long tube pace setters the gain is well worth it.

I will have some Pacesetter ceramic coated longtubes for sale in a couple months. Only like 6 months on them.

If you live in a visual emissions test place only. you can have some fake cats welded to your system like I did even with longtubes. I pass emissions

You are calling him an idiot for doing this? Perhaps before supplying an "Its pointless...." opinion you should back it up with some sort of logic and reason?
Just a thought.

They allegedly offered honed manifolds in the first hundred SS models or so. I was told the cost didn't justify the means so they stopped. I still have the pamphlet that has it as an option.
