If all you did was remove the old sensor and install a new one, something else is wrong. A bad sensor in the pump will not cause a no-start condition.
do you mean the spark wire that goes from the coil to the optispark? what happens if the wd40 gets onto the maf sensor? (I know I didnt get any on there)

If all you did was remove the throttle body (why would you remove it to change the water pump temp sensor is beyond me), there is only so much you can do in that vicinity to cause a no-start condition. You probably unplugged the wrong sensor (ICM/coil is a possibility). Not to mention it's such a simple procedure that you should be able to see what you did and reverse your steps.
