The EWP actually has more bang for the buck than a CAI.

Years ago when I was running IHRA Pure Stock I swapped to an electric water pump and gained nothing in ET. It is great for cooling the motor betwean rounds.

I'm inclined to agree as my '93 T/A with 117K miles ran 252rwhp at the dyno and all it has is EWP, throttle body bypass, and a K&N filter that would affect hp numbers. Unless the 3.73 rear gears can manipulate the dyno numbers any...otherwise I doubt my car came stock running that much, so I am pretty sure the EWP helped a bit.

so if i went ahead and picked up a mezeire ewp, i wouldnt have to buy a new waterpump to go along with it. I'm having the motor that im having built put in next month, and in the market in buying a new ac delco pump. Do I just get the ewp it self then?

You don't HAVE to, no. Just make sure that the rear input shaft area that isn't used anymore is sealed up tight just in case the seal deteriorates and gives out.

Someone correct and confirm on this but: I also think you will want to plug the weep holes as well since they now won't be used anymore.

Wire it with a light then. There's a guy on here who made a diagram that'll TRIGGER a light if it dies. The easier way is just having it light up if it has power. EWP have come quite a long ways and last a long time, plus you'd know by your temp if it wasn't working anymore.

exactly...just keep an eye on the gauge...which you do anyway to make sure you're keeping within reason of speed limit as it is very difficult to do so in these cars :-p

Otherwise, if it's because it may seem high, you have to factor in that it's running almost directly off the cam, and I think the gearing has more parasitic loss than belt and pulleys.

figured it had something to do with it running off the cam to be creating that kind of loss.
