new parts!

Here are my new comp cams 1.6 NSA 7/16 rockers vs PRW's 1.6 3/8 SA rockers

there both really nice pieces. but the comp cams feel so much smoother then the PRW's. over all tho for the price the PRW's are very hard to beat. they are of course heavier then the wide bodied forged aluminum comps but some im sure see that as not being a big enough problem to not spend the extra money on the comps. i however dont wish to spend more money later on rockers again like ive done before.. i dont doubt the PRW's but i feel more secure with the comps. i dont really want to sell the PRW's even tho i dont need them anymore. there really nice pieces :p

I'll try to find you a good article on gasket matching b/c if you remove all the material to gasket match you'll actually hurt airflow.
Gotta love new parts, its like Christmas! lol
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
id appreciate it if you could find a good article. im not going to to to crazy with it. i just want to smooth it out as much as possible.
head parts

stock crank ready to be cut and polished

this is the water pump drive with a nice groove in it from the seal

i couldnt seem to find a new one so i figured id repair it

all clean

stock exhaust ports with my felpro copper gaskets. the gaskets match up next to perfect on my mac mid headers so i figured id take the opportunity while the heads are bare to open them up abit

took out alot of material but made sure to keep everything as smooth as possible

now thats more like it!

and with alittle bowl work aswell.

i know i should do alittle more bowl work but i dont want to **** anything up to badly. i think how i have them now is pretty damn good. the exhaust is going to flow so much more smoothly out of the cylinder. i have to finish up the bowl area on the driver side head alittle more tomorrow before i move onto the intake side.. im kinda nervous about that but i dont plan on taking to much off. ill see how it works

Heads are coming along nicely, even though is small gains, every little bit counts, good thing you are being conservative and not trashing a set of heads.

ive been really busy lately and havent updated this in awhile as a result of that. progress on the build has been steady. monday my pistons and all bearings along with the oil pump get ordered through my builder. theyll be in around thursday and around friday or next monday of next week my crank will be but and polished and my block will be bored .030" over and honed. and somewhere inbetween all this chaos my heads will be decked, cleaned, and assembled with my old valvetrain.
