Pulling lt1 with m6 or without
After pulling my motor from top, I will recommend to just drop everything at once out bottom if you can. There is way less unbolting everything in cramped space.

No brake bleeding involved.
Able to roll the car out after pulling motor.
No shifting the cradle
Is just a few reasons off the top of my head...
Brake bleeding doesn't take long, easy to do with a mighty vac.
You can roll out the engine & tranny, similar to rolling the car away.
I have done both methods several times, I'll never pull the engine out the top again if I don't have to.

Yeah but what happens when you remove the engine and transmission and you need to roll the car out of the garage. Let me guess remove engine and trans and put cradle back into car. So you can move car.
For the person with no lift and a lift that they can not leave their car on indefinitely. thru the top is easier and less work.
I have done it all kinds of ways. and I am not saying there is a correct way. But if you actually have to use the area you are working in when done or you dont like the additonal work. Then pulling it thru the top is the smartest way

If its a LS engine corvette I would say out the bottom only! lol

If you got 2 fast guys doing it out the top and out the bottom it would be a close race. Both ways took me about 2-3 hours and that was using a lift.
