Is there such a thing as a universal cat?
Just wondering cuz Im getting lts and TD's dumped, 2.5". Im doing emmissions friendly only cuz I don't wanna go through the hassle of deleting AIR and EGR only to have to install it again for smog time.
I was just wondering if I can get any universal high flow cat and will they work?
what kind do you recomend?
do I NEED cats? itll still have AIR and EGR...
Im gonna find someone in cali to see if theyll pass it and if I cant find someone, Im gonna swap everything to stock to smog and reinstall headers and td's.
Thanks people.

with no issues with regard to emissions (the shop had it inspected after
installing the cat). I've since replaced the exhaust manifolds with headers
and the dual cats (from Kooks - consider those high-flow cats) and have
zero issues with emissions test results.

well, here in CA, I won't get past visual cuz of the LTs. Im just asking becasue I need to know if I even need them since the headers have emmissions on them. And if I do, what kind of high flows are best for price. Thx for quick info.

Id also do highflow cats with the true dauls just in case you get pulled over, they see you have cats in place.

I wouldn't call it ****, just a pain in the *** with all the rules is really what it is. Im more D, but Pelosi is a crazed lunatic and I hate her. To tell you the truth, I think we need more R influance....but....thats not what this tread is about.
Ok so I can get any 2.5" cat and weld that in, cool.
Do you think I can take my car and register it in another state like AZ and pass emmissions there (not sure if Lts and TD's are legal, but if they were...) then drive it back to Cali or could i get into major trouble?

I live in Cali man. LT's and high flow cat's are definitely ILLEGAL in CA. They recently passed a law making it illegal to sell universal/high-flow cats to CA residents. You have to buy CARB (California Air and Resource Board) approved OBDII catalytic converters that usually cost ~350 a piece.
Now I have PS LT's, !cats, !AIR, !EGR. You just have to find a shop that will charge you more to pass you.

No... It's pretty much illegal everywhere, but there are those areas that don't bother dealing with it or don't care or don't have a clue nor do they want one...
