MPG question..

MPG question.. so the i got the car in my sig.... and i bought it from a guy and he bought it brand new... the car has 117xxx miles on it and he said he never changed the plugs or wires.... as of right now on the Hwy i am getting about 180 miles per tank and about 160 miles per tank in the city
... is this normal??? cause i dont think so.... and if i do change my plugs and wires what kinda change should i see if any? Also what plugs and wires should i go with. please chime in guys..

Regardless of what mpg you get, at that mileage, it's wise for you go swap in new plugs, wires, and a coil. I'd even throw in a new opti, but that's just me.
Also swap in some new o2 sensors, clean your MAF, change your fuel filter, change/clean your air filter. That should help give you some better mpg's.

i mean, if you plan on keeping the car for YEARS - then yeah, do it. but i think it's safe to say that gas will hit 5$ a gallon by next year, and nobody will be holding on to their LT1s.

Sounds on the low side to me. Do you have a heavy foot?
Regardless of what mpg you get, at that mileage, it's wise for you go swap in new plugs, wires, and a coil. I'd even throw in a new opti, but that's just me.

yeah i knida do got a heavy foot lol.... i am about to change plugs and wiresis there any tricks yall can give me? ... how much is a coil? and is my fuel filter in the tank or is it in-line? i cleaned my MAF and descreened it.... and i am saving up for a good opti spark... and i am pretty sure my air filter is 15 years old also....so does anyone know any good plugs or wires for my setup??? any prices???

how much of a difference do new plugs make? I'm not sure how old mine are...
do you have a link to buy those(NGK TR55 plugs) online?
You can get TR55's at Autozone for ~2 bucks a piece.

my wires are red, so im assuming they've been replaced at one point. i'm at 90k miles

yeah when i get outta my car i can smell some fuel i think its a little rich.... how much gas u think i am losing?
