cc503 cam installed A+++++
I am posting this for anyone thinking about a cam change,I bought a cc502 ,I changed my mind,and then I had a comp custom grind,then after all the people running the cc503 on here ,I traded my custom grind for one.I just had my tranny gone through and put my vig 2600 in,I have to say this cam is awsome,and a very good dd cam.I never thought this thing would run this good with stock heads.I think with traction low 12s and high 7s in the 1/8 mile are possible,this thing screams.

the cam bearings are worn out. my 157 mile short block was going to receive just a cam and milling of the heads. however ALL of my cam bearings were destroyed and i decided to pull the short block and do it right. heres a pic. and heres a pic to show my cam
im glad to hear your car runs like a raped ape! haha the 503 is a very popular cam. are you running a tune by any chance ?

Wow how did the lifters look? my car has 187k and they look new, but my cam bearings shows some wear but not as bad as yours and your camshaft.

Tune
I had (lt1 pcm tuning) do mine,he is is very sharp on Lt1s,I could not be happier with my tune.The complete power tune on mine and vats,egr,air pump,and evap delete,the best thing is he charges $75,and pays shipping back to you,I sent mine off on Tues(Tx to Oh)and I had mine back on Sat.,so I would say thats a fast turn-a-round.

lol Pretty damn bad! my engine was beat on so bad by the kid i bought it off of (and i know im a kid too at 21 ). it was 2 quarts low and the oil darker then satans heart
i was going to do what you are doing but with new lifters and at least the first cam bearing new. you can get behind it and tap it out and just tap the new one in place. but when i had it all stripped apart i said to hell with it i might as well pull it and sink some dough into it. if you can afford to have the car off the road for awhile you can afford to do the engine up right. who knows what youll find when you tear it apart. i havent seen them yet but my builder said that my pistons were worn away at the ring seats pretty bad. and my crank has to be cut from wear. if your going to be tearing the engine down again in alittle while to build it up. then you might aswell just tear it down now and wait alittle while. thats what i did and i feel its the smart thing to do. because if i didnt and something couldnt handle the new power... id be out alot more money
