Default Cam bearing help needed.

I pulled my cam out last night and noticed that there are some rough spots on my front cam bearing at 3 and 9 o'clock.

Does the bearing need to be replaced? the engine has 130K+

If it does, what tools are needed

The oiling holes should be 90* apart, so its not them, how deep are the rough spots?

If you can see/feel anything you mise well replace it, the front bearing is prolly the only one you can get out with the engine in the car. You will need a cam bearing driving tool, but you will need to find a way to get the old bearing out, but so it is driven out the front, not pushed back (then you couldn't get it out).

Can you snap any pics?
If it is pretty bad, might as well replace them, and like stated above, that will require dropping the motor.

you can at least change out the first bearing. you can get behind it and tap it out. and then just tap the new one into place

My front bearing had some wear on it with 125K miles. Ive heard that its caused from the load of the waterpump being driven off the cam gear.

I carefully tapped out all of mine with a metal pipe (may I stress carefully), then if you did knock it toward the block you could always crush the bearing so you could pull it back out of the front. Just tie a string or something to it so you don't lose it lol.

You can tap it out and if you push it back you can crush it to get it in an oval shape to get it back through the hole. Its up to you though, its your car and if you're uncomfortable doing it, don't if it gets messed up you could be stuck into pulling the engine out.

Any pics, maybe we can see how bad the wear is?

No, they are tapped in place, it's an interference fit.

The "no" is in reply to the ridge part of the question, not the pushed into the block part right?

Correct, nothing holds the cam bearing in except the pressure around the outside, no ridge or anything to stop it.
