Default 96 SS won't go into first gear?
Switched out the pcm from an obd ll to an obd l so i could tune with tuner cat and now the car won't go into first or hit overdrive. Doesn't matter if i manually shift it or leave the car in drive. Any Ideas?

Is the OBDI PCM for an auto or manual transmission?

the obd l pcm is for an automatic. i worked fine in my other car which is a auto. I reinstalled the stock computer and it shifts in to first and overdrive just fine?

um dont you have to change wiring and stuff you cant just remove and replace the PCMs from OBDI/OBDII?

It installs just the same. No wiring is needed. You have to delete some stuff in the tune thats it.

Maybe it came out of a caprice or some other lt1 car and didnt have the same tranny? just a guess, im not sure if they changed trannys at all.

Ok, will check into that. The only thing that puzzles me is i have done this to three other cars and never had a problem?

You can always send it to a mail order tuning place to have it analyzed or reflashed.
