Well im going witha very small cam.. it does not goto the track but once every 4-5 months. I want something that wont destroy my mpg.. i have 3.73 gears, longtube headers, off road y pipe, exhaust , cam, 1.6 rr and MAY spray down the line a little bit (100 shot would be the max)

I heard that some tcs from older camaros stall around 2500 would that be worth it or do i just need to buck up and get an aftermarket stall around 3200?

 

Even a bolt-on car will benefit from a 2800-3200 stall. That's what I'd go with. I went with a 3600 stall when I was bolt-on and had great results.

 

2500 is too small. a 9.5in 2800- 3,000 will probably be good.

as stated stock bolt on cars really dig the 3600 for maximum performance.

As long as you still get a lock up converter it really won't hurt you mpg's except for stop and go stuff. I'd def go 3600 do it right, the first time if you can afford to!

 

I would get atleast a 2800 as a bare minimum if it were me but I would focus in the 3000+ range. Really depends what your looking for but a 3200 is a real solid bet with a 3600 being a great choice as well. Any sized converter will hurt the mpg's a little before it locks up. The higher the stall speed the more rpm its going to take to get moving but I can't imagine any noticible mpg losses between say a 3200 and a 3600 stall.
